Help Mature Bride Find A Wedding Dress
I'm getting married next year. We have not fixed a date yet but its either June or July. I'm 50 years old and this is my second wedding ,as I lost my first husband 6 years ago. I met my partner 3 years ago and we got engaged on Christmas day. I'm size 22 to 24. I'm hoping to lose a little bit so hopefully I should be about a size 20, as I don't want to lose to much.
It's not going to be a church wedding. What do I wear? I don't want to look to old, but at the same time, I don't want to look to young. I know I don't want a long wedding dress, but as for what else to wear, I'm lost! I keep looking on web sites but most of them are for long wedding dresses. Please help if you can.
There are some alternatives to picking a traditional wedding dress with a train. One alternative wedding dress choice would be to consider wearing a bridal suit or a two-piece special occasion dress. Some brides prefer this to a dress for an informal wedding. You can find these in your better or upscale boutiques or clothing stores in the special occasion departments.
Also, consider ordering what is considered a mother's dress. There are a lot of stylish mother of the bride gowns and formal suits that could be used as a wedding gown. You can go to a bridal salon or order these from an online wedding dress shop like Plussizebridal.com.
Some mature brides have found that an evening gown will work nicely as a wedding gown. Remember, you can have a floor length gown cut off to a shorter length. An ankle length, or tea length hem length would be nice for an informal wedding setting.
Just make sure to choose a gown that will flatter your figure. Here are some tips to help plus size brides do just that.
