If you are having a destination wedding you should send out your save the date cards or magnets 12 months or more before the wedding. This gives everyone time to prepare and save in order to attend.

In order for your guests not to confuse the save the date card for your invitation... you want to include the words " Invitation to follow" or "Invitations and details to follow" at the bottom of the card.

What does save the date etiquette say should be included on the invite? Make sure to put your names, the wedding date, and the place it will take place is on the save the date magnets or cards. It you have a wedding website you can include this information also.

If you have the information available, send hotel accommodations, airline information and car rental information to simplify the planning process for your guests.

Just use the save the date wording or verses that can be found in the invitation books or on online wedding invitation sites. You can make up your own if you want something unique.
