You are a bride in a special class if you are looking for western wedding gowns! Most likely you are having a country western theme wedding or perhaps you are thinking of doing the popular rustic wedding theme.
If this sounds like you... then a western wedding dress may be the wedding gown style you have been looking for.
I noticed that there seem to be four distinct styles of western bridal gowns.
Victorian Vintage Style Wedding Gowns - You have in this category the gowns that look like copies of authentic Victorian style wedding gowns of the 1800's. These gowns are made of soft lace fabrics, high necklines and puffed long sleeves. These gowns usually have full gathered skirts with a train and bustle in the back.
The more modern version vintage inspired styles are all lace gowns or gowns that are detailed with lace trims. You can find high necklines, scooped, V necklines or off the shoulder styles. Some have short or long sleeves either puffed or smooth set in sleeves. The length of choice seems to be ankle and tea length with high-low hemlines or handkerchief hems.
Denim Wedding Dresses - That's right you can find wedding gowns made out of denim. When you think about it... this is a good choice for a western wedding gown. Some are styled like traditional wedding dresses with bodice, skirt and train or more with shorter tea length styles.
Also they are available in more slim down silhouettes and in two-piece styles, and are adorned sometimes with lace appliqués or fringe, like the one pictured below.
Modern Styles With A Western Twist- These are dresses that are more modern styled with ruffles as part of the styling. The fabrics are also lace, chiffon and soft satin. You will see some with lace trims and fringe added just enough to give that western fair.
Of course you have to have the bridal accessories to go along with your western wedding gown. So far as shoes are concerned, the bridal shoe of choice would be the western style lace up boots. You can find these in leather or in a lace covered fabric.
When it comes to the headpiece you can go with a veil, but some like the look of a white cowboy hat with veil attached. Other accessories like the choker necklace, dangling earrings, lace gloves and a shawl may be used to finish your look.
